I was recently reminded of the words of the Serenity Prayer. Many of us have encountered the words before and the Serenity Prayer opens a wide door to spiritual growth and healing. It offers spiritual truths and practical wisdom and people who learn to live and breathe this prayer in their daily lives discover, in the balance between acceptance and change, the precious gift of serenity—a gift that is available to us with each new day and enlightens our lifelong, spiritual journey.
It is indeed a strange, strange world we live in and it is not easy to get a handle on all that we experience at this time. Perhaps this prayer can bring us closer to the One who is the source of serenity amidst the uncertainty surrounding us:
The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
As it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make things right
If I surrender to His Will;
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life
And supremely happy with Him
Forever and ever in the next.
Amen.
Impact Stories
Due to the lock down we could not follow through with the two Walking with Wounded workshops we had been planning. The nature of the workshop is such that it cannot be presented without engaging with the participants and the children they need to work with. We will have to shelf this workshop in its current form until later.
Theunis are still involved with personal development coaching for Naspers Labs, helping one of their employees to increase his capacity in fulfilling the Key Performance Areas of his job description. This is done via SKYPE and it is a good opportunity to hone his online coaching skills!
The lock down provided an opportunity to present the Dad’s Talk and Mother Design workshops (In association with the World needs a Father movement) and both Theunis and Magda had been involved as facilitators presenting the material via ZOOM. During April +-60 men and 40 women were involved as participants in the training. Theunis is continuing with two small groups of men, meeting Monday mornings (06:30) and Monday evenings (19:00). This will continue for the next 8 weeks.
Looking Forward
We will continue with our personal mission focuses as stated in the sidebar of this newsletter.
We do this through:
- Dad’s Talk and Mother Design workshops (In association with the World needs a Father movement),
- Personal Life Coaching and Strengthsbased Marriage Preparation Course (Using Clifton Strengthsfinder assessment / approach)
- Business Coaching and Facilitating related to business and organizational development)
In all of this we aim to generate an income to make us less dependent on donation income in the future.
We worked hard to re-frame most of our material to be able to present it via on-line platforms. You can help us to make our services known to people in your networks. Please refer them to our Facebook-page and / orWebsite:
Our desire is to help leaders in business and family life, to live with purpose and perspective, making a positive difference in these spheres.
